Reading Stool

The Reading Stool

Project Brief: You will work individually to design a stool, starting with identifying the type (dining height, counter height, bar height, or other) and the use case, and quickly iterate through sketch and modeling phases to achieve a high-fidelity model of your design. Each week a new iteration and refinement of your stool will be due; you will share with the class what you have been working on and any aspects you are still struggling with. You will use the class feedback to push your design before embarking on the final model.

Model Making

Here, I played around with form using quick model making tools such as chipboard, foam core, and plastic adhesive

Technical Drawing

This stool can be made almost completely out of flat pieces that are joined together. The thin wooden legs of the stool blend into the environment in which they are housed.
